Today, Geriatric Care Solution becomes Live and Stay.

Same company, same owner, same caregivers, same doors, same schedules. What changed is the name on the sign — and where that name came from is the whole story.

The birth of our name

"I want to live at home. I want to stay in my own home."

For eighteen years we have been sitting at kitchen tables across Northern California, in first conversations that began in worry and ended with a plan. At nearly every one of those tables, at some point, the elder says the same thing — never in industry language, always in their own words, almost verbatim, every time.

Two small verbs. Over and over. For eighteen years. Live. Stay. When the time came to choose the name that would carry this work forward, we found it had already been written — spoken aloud by the very people we exist to serve. We didn't need to invent it. We only needed to write it down.

The most important word in our name is the smallest one.

Behind every family's search for care is a fear they rarely say out loud: that these two wishes are in conflict and one has to go. The [and — set in gold italic] is our answer. You don't have to choose. It is the only word in our logo set in gold — not decoration, but the thesis. And a word doesn't cook a meal or notice an unsteady step. A caregiver does. The name is the promise; the person in the home is how we keep it.

What has not changed

Nearly everything. To be specific:

1. The same company, the same owner. No sale, no merger, no new ownership. The leadership you know is the leadership you have.
2. The same license. We remain a licensed Home Care Organization, the same company in continuous good standing since 2008.
3. The same caregivers. Your caregiver on Friday is your caregiver on Monday.
4. The same Care Manager and the same phone number. 1.888.896.8275, answered by the same people. Email sent to our old address still reaches us.
5. The same agreement. Your rate, your schedule, and your care plan are unchanged.
6. The same method. The Montessori Method of Senior Care, practiced the same way, by the same team trained in it.
7. The same services. Everyday Care and every one of our signature services continue exactly as they are.

The name we are setting down

Geriatric Care Solution opened in 2008 and spent eighteen years earning the trust of families across the Bay Area. It was the first company in the United States to fully adopt the Montessori Method of Senior Care — engagement built around what a person can still do and still love, rather than what has been lost. We learned everything we know under that name.

Retiring a name you built is not a small thing, and we are not pretending otherwise. But nothing under it is being replaced. Every standard, every practice, every caregiver, every family came with us. The work is not new. It has simply been renamed by the people it was built for.
